Can I say we've got another shorts day. It's great, but they have so much wind down here it does get a little chilly. Left Santa Fe early, wish we could have seen more but we have a big day ahead of us. Another museum, this one owned by the Joiner family. They have raced in the Great Race as seen on the History Channel. They have lots of nice cars, all owned by the family. Stopped at the Route 66 Diner for lunch, I was outside snapping a bunch of pics when all of a sudden a curb jumped out and tripped me up. I felt more foolish than hurt now I have to go back to wearing pants to cover up my skinned knees. The highlight of our day came at the Unser Racing Museum in Alburquerque. We were greeted out front by none other than Al himself, shook his hand, it was a great photo op. He spent a couple of hours with us going through his museum, some of the guys went into the racing simulator they had a ball. The guy that set us up was Charlie Daniels, not the singer but the Supreme Court judge from New Mexico. Our trip planner Cindy Minier knows someone who knows someone and before you know it she had this planned. I had a mission on this trip and that was to find a Wekinz for grandaughter Ashley and a baby doll for our other grandaughter Kaylee. We went shopping and the first store I tried there was one penguin Webkinz. I was so happy, mission accomplished. Next is the baby doll for Kaylee. That's it for now, tomorrows another adventure. |
